Meet a Rare Book: Literary Gardeners
A small group experience that highlights books from the Library’s rare book collection. Join us in the Edward P. Connors Rare Books Reading Room to see some of the most distinctive items in our rare books collection up close. Topics vary by class..
We’re not the only ones who sit comfortably in the Venn diagram intersection of literature and gardens: many great writers were also nerdy about nature. During this hour-long program, you’ll get the chance to flip through a facsimile of Emily Dickinson's herbarium, peruse Edith Wharton's book on Italian gardens, see Beatrix Potter’s gorgeous mushroom illustrations, and much more.
