Formally founded in 2012, the Center expands the mission of the Gardens beyond our gates and into international communities. Focused on plant conservation, plant exploration, horticultural research and capacity building, the Center brings horticultural expertise to partnerships and collaborations that connect people with plants.

Plant Conservation 

  • North American Botanic Garden Strategy for Alpine Plant Conservation
  • Fagaceae of Taiwan
    • In 2023, representatives from the International Oak Society, Botanic Gardens Conservation International, Global Conservation Consortium for Oaks and Denver Botanic Gardens were invited to review the diversity of Fagaceae family present in Taiwan. At the invitation of the Taiwan Academy of Ecology and Taiwan Forestry Bureau, representatives presented at the International Conservation Symposium “The Ecological Value and Plant Diversity of Southeastern Taiwan." Protective measures to conserve the diversity of the forest structures were passed by the Taiwanese legislature.
