Discover the Magic of Mexico with Denver Botanic Gardens
Travel has a way of changing how we see the world—and sometimes, it changes how we see ourselves, too.
There are few places that embody the sense of discovery quite like Mexico. It's a country where plants, people and culture are deeply intertwined: ancient agricultural traditions continue to shape communities, vibrant public gardens tell stories of conservation and identity, and every market, plaza and meal offers a glimpse into generations of history.
Denver Botanic Gardens invites you to experience this connection through two unforgettable journeys into the heart of central Mexico.
Hosted by Yvonne Garcia Bardwell, the Gardens' associate director of community relations, these small-group experiences are more than vacations. They're opportunities to slow down, build meaningful connections and experience Mexico through the lens of culture, community and the natural world.
Puebla
One journey takes you through the colorful streets of Puebla, where artisan traditions, historic architecture and mountain communities reveal how creativity, craftsmanship and everyday life have flourished together for centuries.

Mexico City and Monarchs
The other follows one of the world's greatest natural phenomena as millions of monarch butterflies return to the forests of central Mexico. Along the way, you'll experience vibrant neighborhoods, floating gardens, local artisans and landscapes that remind us how closely people and nature have always been connected.

While each itinerary offers its own unique experiences, they share something deeper. Both invite us to look beyond the destination and discover the relationships between people and place, conservation and culture, history and the landscape that continue to shape them. They remind us that gardens aren't confined by walls or borders; they exist in forests, farms, neighborhoods, kitchens and communities around the world.
Explore colorful cities, remarkable biodiversity, rich cultural traditions and the joy of traveling with fellow Gardens supporters. We hope you'll join us for an experience that will stay with you long after you've returned home.
