Take a behind-the-scenes look as we prepare for the opening of the exhibition Ursula Von Rydingsvard: The Contour of Feeling, which opens this Saturday, April 30.

An ambitious exhibition featuring large cedar sculptures, Ursula von Rydingsvard: The Contour of Feeling is the artist’s first solo exhibition in Denver. von Rydingsvard is renowned for her towering cedar and bronze outdoor sculptures; this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to experience a large collection of cedar sculptures and works on paper indoors. The exhibition is a take-over of all three of the Freyer - Newman Center galleries and also includes one outdoor sculpture.

Several of these large-scale cedar works, weighing over 600 lbs., had to be lifted onto the second story of the Freyer - Newman Center by crane.

To-scale templates were used to help ensure works were placed in the correct position. Works are laid out and assessed before installation.
